To make low calorie cinnamon roll overnight oats you will need:
- Oats – I used regular porridge oats for this recipe but you can use any oats you would like. I would recommend porridge oats or rolled oats as they give the best texture. Use gluten-free oats for a gluten-free alternative.
- Yogurt – To get the oats super creamy, soft and moist it’s best to use yogurt. For this recipe I used 0% fat Greek yogurt but you can use any yogurt you would like. Opt for a dairy-free yogurt to make this recipe vegan. You can also use milk or water here.
- Unsweetened almond milk – This recipe calls for a splash of milk. This is to give the oats a really soft and tender texture. Unsweetened almond milk is super low in calories whilst still giving a creamy quality to these oats. You can opt for any milk you would like but the calories for this recipe would change slightly.
- Sweetener – I opted for 0 calorie brown sugar alternative but you can use any 0 calorie sweetener of your choosing.
- Ground cinnamon – You can’t have cinnamon roll oats without the cinnamon!
- Cream cheese – Super light cream cheese makes a perfect creamy frosting for this low calorie breakfast. I use Philadelphia lightest cream cheese but you can also use low fat cream cheese – the calories will be slightly higher though. Use vegan cream cheese for a vegan alternative.
- 0 calorie icing sugar – 0 calorie icing sugar keeps this recipe sugar-free. If you don’t have any 0 calorie icing sugar to hand, regular icing sugar works too but it adds a few extra calories.
