Hey, I’m Samira, the creator behind weight loss with Veera! You’re probably wondering why ‘Veera’ and not ‘Samira’? Well, Veera was a character I created so I could post my weight loss content and not have anyone know who I was! I would have NEVER imagined my silly little tiktok’s would one day be my full time job! So I’m keeping the weightlosswithveera name but showing up as Samira.

I started my weight loss journey back in February of 2021. Since then, I have lost over 40kg! I initially started documenting my journey on Tiktok to help me stay motivated and accountable. My account quickly grew and people loved my low calorie alternatives to everyday foods we all love. My goal now is to make weight loss as easy as possible for everyone by coming up with low calorie recipes and sharing my favorite tips and tools!

I hope you enjoy your visit and learn a little something about weight loss too.

This recipe makes 2 servings. 

Macros per serving: 
146 calories 
21g carbs 
8.5g fibre 
4.8g protein 
4.5g fat

Ingredients: 
* 180g peeled American sweet potato chunks (1 medium sweet potato or 210g before peeling) 
* 30g unsweetened cocoa powder 
* 30g 0 calorie icing sugar 
* 15g chocolate chips 
* 1/2 tsp salt 

Instructions: 
1. Peel and chop the sweet potato and transfer to a medium pot filled 3/4 of the way with water. Add a sprinkle of salt and set over medium-high heat until boiling. 
2. Once the water reaches a boil, turn the heat down to medium and allow the sweet potato chunks to boil for 20 minutes. 
3. Drain the potatoes and fill the pot with cold water. Allow the potato chunks to cool for a few minutes. 
4. Drain the potato chunks and transfer to a medium bowl. Using either a masher or a whisk, mash the potatoes until smooth. 
5. Add the cocoa powder, 0 calorie icing sugar and salt. Whisk until well combined and smooth. 
6. Fold in the chocolate chips, sprinkle with more salt, serve and enjoy!
