The best low calorie donuts recipe ingredients
- Oat flour – This recipe calls for oat flour. If you don’t have oat flour, you can make your own by blending up some porridge oats (what I did)!
- Baking powder – This helps the donuts rise and gives them the cake-like texture.
- Ground cinnamon – You can’t have a cinnamon donut without the cinnamon! It also makes them smell so irresistibly yummy!
- 0% fat yogurt – 0% fat yogurt is super low in calories but adds a little moisture to these donuts.
- Vanilla extract – Adds the perfect background flavor to these donuts.
- Unsweetened almond milk – Perfect for adding moisture but keeping the calories super low.
- 0 calorie sweetener – I used liquid sweetener for this recipe, but you can replace with granulated sweetener if you prefer to. With granulated sweetener, I would recommend 3-4 tbsp. (depending on which sweetener you use) and increase the milk to 75ml.
How to make baked cinnamon donuts
- Pre-heat oven to 180°C (356°F). Spray a 6-count donut case with a few 1 calorie sprays.
- If you’re using oats instead of oat flour, blend the oats in a high-speed blender until super fine and flour-like in consistency.
- Combine all the ingredients in a medium bowl and mix until you get a thick, smooth batter.
- Divide the batter equally between the 6 donut cases using a spoon or piping bag.
- Bake the donuts for 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Make the frosting whilst the donuts bake. Set aside in the fridge until needed.
- Let the donuts cool in the mold for 5-10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Top with the icing before enjoying!

- Mix all the ingredients – In a small bowl, whisk ultra light cream cheese, 0 calorie powdered sugar and cinnamon until smooth and lump-free.
- Spread frosting onto cooled donuts – Spoon and spread the frosting over the donuts.

- Measure ingredients according to the recipe – Make sure your ingredient weights are exactly as stated in the recipe to get the best results. I would recommend getting a kitchen scale to make sure you get the right measurements.
- Blend, blend blend – If you’re using oats, make sure you blend the oats until super fine. Its better to over-blend than to be left with lumpy donuts! Make sure your blender is completely dry before blending the oats.
- Allow the donuts time to cool – If you spread the frosting onto warm donuts, it will melt. Allow the donuts to completely cool before using the frosting.
