Weight loss is a tough but rewarding journey to embark on. I always found it hardest to stay within my calorie deficit during the summer. Late night dinners, ice creams, sorbets – I wanted the lot! Although I believe that losing weight in a healthy way means no restrictions and eating all the things you love, it isn’t a good idea to eat an entire tub of ice cream everyday. This low calorie yogurt bark is the perfect alternative to ice cream! It is super simple and requires just 3 ingredients!
If you feel like having a snack in the freezer that you can just grab whenever you need it, this low calorie yogurt bark is perfect for you. It is really easy to make and takes literally no time at all. The only difficult thing about this recipe is waiting for it to set – but believe me, the wait is sooo worth it!
If you can get past biting into frozen food (it’s honestly never been a problem for me, I must have teeth of steel haha), then you’re in for a treat. This recipe honestly couldn’t be simpler or more satisfying. It’s like chewing on really hard ice cream!

To make this low calorie yogurt bark you will need:
- Low fat yogurt – Yogurt is the main ingredient in frozen yogurt. Although in most of my low calorie recipes I opt for 0% fat yogurt, this recipe calls for reduced fat yogurt. This is so the yogurt bark still tastes creamy and ice-cream-like. Opt for a vegan yogurt for a vegan alternative.
- Stevia – I used a little stevia to sweeten the yogurt. You can use any sweetener of your choosing. You can also use flavored yogurt instead of sweetening regular yogurt.
- Fruit – I have gone with a mix of raspberries, blueberries and blackberries for this recipe but you can opt for any fruit of your choosing. Fruit is very low in calories for the most part so although I still advise tracking your own calories, it will most likely be very similar for most fruits you use.
- Add-ons – You can have a little fun and add any extras you like to the yogurt bark. My go-to’s are always granola or chocolate. For this recipe, I went with a little chocolate swirl but feel free to keep things as simple or as wild as you like!
How to make low calorie yogurt bark
These frozen yogurt bars are super easy to make. You can have them ready in as little as 3 steps!

- Spread the yogurt evenly onto the parchment paper. Add your toppings and freeze for at least 2 hours.
- Remove from the freezer, break up the bark and enjoy!
Top tips for the best frozen yogurt bars
Although this recipe is super simple, here are a few top tips to make sure you get perfect low calorie yogurt bark every time!
- Don’t spread the yogurt too thin – Spreading the yogurt too thin won’t ruin the recipe but it will make the bark very thin. Spread the yogurt so that it isn’t super thick but so that it is also not too thin. For me, this was about 15cm wide. If you can see the parchment paper through the yogurt, you’ve spread it too thin!
- Freeze overnight – For the best results, leave these bars in the freezer overnight. When the frozen yogurt bark is left in the freezer overnight, they become super firm and easily snap-able.
- Keep toppings light – Adding too many toppings will make the bars too thick and lumpy. Try slicing the fruit before adding to the yogurt. Customizing this recipe is really easy too. You can literally add whatever you like! The steps to make it will still be the same but feel free to swap out berries for whichever fruit combo you like.
