To make these low calorie chocolate chip cookies you will need:
Unsweetened applesauce – Applesauce is a great alternative to eggs and butter. This helps keep the calories super low whilst holding the cookies in shape.
Olive oil – A small amount of olive oil is used in this recipe to help keep the cookie intact and give it a soft and chewy texture. You can swap out olive oil for any oil of your choice.
Vanilla – What’s a cookie without vanilla? To really elevate your chocolate chip cookies, opt for vanilla bean paste for the best flavor.
Plain/all-purpose flour – You can opt for gluten-free flour for a gluten-free alternative.
0 Calorie brown sugar– Great at mimicking the texture and color of regular chocolate chip cookies. You can opt for any granulated 0 calorie sweetener here.
Baking soda – To help the cookies spread.
Salt – Flaky sea salt on a warm cookie is like the icing on the cake.
Dark chocolate chips – I used regular dark chocolate chips. But you can opt for any chocolate of your choice.

How to make the best low calorie cookies
These cookies are really easy to make and can be ready in just 5 simple steps!
- Pre-heat oven to 180°C (356°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the applesauce, oil, vanilla and 0 calorie brown sugar until well combined. Fold in the flour, baking soda, salt and chocolate chips until well combined.
- Divide the cookie dough evenly between 3 cookie dough balls and place onto the prepared baking tray. Flatten the cookies slightly and bake for 8 minutes.
- Let the cookies cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Storage
You can store these cookies a few different ways. They will store at room temperature for 2-3 days in an airtight container. You can also refrigerate them for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container lined with paper towels. You can freeze these cookies in one layer in an airtight container for up to 3 months!

- 30 g 0 calorie brown sugar
- 32 g all-purpose/plain flour

- 10 g dark chocolate chips
Instructions
