Okay I know you’re probably thinking – how can this be classed as dessert?? and while I understand the skepticism, don’t knock it till you try it! This coffee desserts feels almost like a mousse – a coffee flavored mousse if you will. It is quick, simple, sweet and satisfying.
If you’re a massive lover of coffee like me, this is the perfect low calorie dessert for you. This 1 calorie coffee dessert is the perfect quick fix! The taste of this dessert depends entirely on the coffee you use. I used my favorite instant coffee (Douwe Egbert’s) and it came out delicious. The stronger the coffee, the stronger the flavor. This recipe requires very minimal effort too. If you have a stand mixer, you can just throw the ingredients together and have the mixer do all the work for you. I personally like to use an electric hand whisk, it only took 7 minutes to make!
This recipe was inspired by Dalgona coffee. Dalgona is a Korean whipped coffee that’s made by whipping together coffee, sugar and water until super thick and creamy. It is typically used as an addition to iced coffee or as a creamer. Feel free to top your morning latte with a bit of the coffee fluff!

To make the best 1 calorie coffee dessert you will need:
- Instant coffee – Any coffee will work for this recipe as long as it is granulated.
- Stevia – I used Stevia but any granulated sweetener should work. You can also use powdered sweetener and it works just as well!
- Cold water – Cold water works best for this recipe, I used cold tap water.
How to make this 1 calorie coffee dessert
This delicious dessert comes together in just 2 simple steps!
- Combine the ingredients in a medium bowl. Using an electrical hand whisk or a stand mixer, whisk on high speed until you get fluffy stiff peaks – 7-10 minutes.
- Serve this in your favorite glass and enjoy!
Top tips!
Add some crushed biscuits – This dessert only contains 1 calorie so there is plenty of room to add to it to make it even more delicious. I love to add some crushed lotus biscuits over the top.
Enjoy with a glass of iced coffee – You can enjoy this whipped coffee dessert with some iced coffee! I like to add this to my 26 calorie iced latte!
Serve Immediately – I found out the hard way that this dessert doesn’t keep for very long. Serve it immediately as the whipped coffee will deflate over time – very quickly!
