I haven’t always been a fan of cinnamon sugar donuts, not because of the donut itself or the flavor – but because I hate the feeling of biting into sugar granules! I can’t stand crunching on sugar so filled donuts were always my jam. That was until I started using stevia as a sugar replacement. It is much finer and melts quicker in your mouth than sugar which is perfect for cinnamon ‘sugar’ donuts!
These donuts are so irresistibly melt in your mouth delicious. The coating is the perfect balance of sweet and spiced. Plus, this recipe comes together in under 30 minutes making it the perfect quick and easy low cal snack!

Ingredients
Exact ingredient quantities can be found at the bottom of this page.
To make these low calorie cinnamon sugar donuts you will need:
Plain/all-purpose flour – This recipe calls for good ol’ all-purpose or plain flour. For a gluten-free alternative, use gluten-free flour or oat flour.
Stevia or granulated sweetener – Any granulated sweetener will work for this recipe. Stevia is my personal favorite and is the closest in taste to sugar. Be mindful of the conversion here, the stevia I use is a 1:2 ratio of stevia to sugar so if the one you use is a 1:1 ratio, you will need to double the amount you use.
Baking powder & baking soda– The combination of both baking powder and baking soda creates the perfectly risen, fluffy donut.
Full-fat yogurt – This recipe calls for full-fat yogurt and not fat-free or 0% fat yogurt. As there is no butter or oil in this recipe, there is very little fat to keep the donuts moist and plump. I wouldn’t recommend going with fat-free yogurt as these donuts can come out dry. You can opt for low-fat yogurt in a pinch but the calorie difference is so minimal I would just go for full-fat!
Egg – This recipe calls for just 1 large egg. It provides structure and helps the donuts keep their shape.
Vanilla extract – No donut recipe is complete without a dash of vanilla!
Unsweetened almond milk – Unsweetened almond milk is super low in calories which works great for this recipe. Any milk will work but the calories may differ.
Ground cinnamon – For the cinnamon sugar coating.
