Make the tastiest low calorie stovetop oatmeal in under 10 minutes! This recipe yields the most delicious, creamy and thick oatmeal. With it being so low in calories, there is no limit to the toppings you can add to really bring this oatmeal to life!
Boil water in a kettle and allow to cool for a few minutes. Alternatively, you can bring the water to a boil in the saucepan then reduce the heat to simmer.
Stir in the oats and ground cinnamon (also stir in the cocoa powder if making the chocolate oatmeal).
Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Transfer the oatmeal to a bowl, pour the milk over the oatmeal and mix until well combined. Add your toppings and enjoy!
Notes
If you're not adding toppings, stir in the golden syrup after the oatmeal is done cooking. For really creamy oatmeal, pour 100ml of milk over the hot oatmeal and let it soak! The best stovetop oatmeal toppingsMy favorite part!
